Ahmed Abdulrhman & Mahmoud Mostapha Maher are blogging for Soccer Egypt.
Both Ahmed and Mahmoud have a long history of involvement in football and are experts in the field of Egyptian Soccer.
After Egypt won the African Nations Cup in 2006, Egyptians, both at home and abroad have discovered a new-found love of and interest in the game. There is an 'excitement' for soccer in Egypt, that has not been felt before, so Ahmed and Mahmoud have decided that its worthwhile to cover the Egyptian soccer scene.
Their singular aim is to inform interested football fans about Egypt's professional leagues (1st and 2nd division) as well as developments at the National Team level.
They intend to provide exclusive interviews with players, coaches and technical staff as well as monitoring Egyptian players abroad and drawing attention to Egyptian players who are as yet unkown to the Egyptian media but who might go on to become the stars of tomorrow.
Ahmed Abdulrhman: 24 years old and an ex-professional goalkeeper for Tanta Sports Club, Kohafa and Olympic Alexandria. He was forced to retire from professional football in 2005 due to a back injury and now works for TopSport Group as our official Egyptian representative in the football management business.
Ahmed will endeavour to provide full coverage of the Egyptian League (Divisions 1 and 2); offering statistical analysis and exclusive interviews with the players and managers from both divisions.
Mahmoud Mostapha Maher: 22 years of age, from Zagazig. Mahmoud is a sports reporter for AML Elzagazeeg Magazine and also regularly contributes articles to two major Arabic sports magazines; Super and El Enawee. As a sideline, he provides internet football analysis for Arab supporters.
Mahmoud holds a degree in Social Work and played soccer at Elsharkiya Sports Club until he was 15 years old but then transferred his attention to Futsal, a sport he plays regularly to this day.
