For the last 7 years, Mohamed Zidan has played in Europe. He started his career with the Akademisk Boldklub in Copenhagen before he was transferred to FC Midtjylland. He was top scorer in Denmark for the 2003/2004 season with 19 goals and voted 'Player of the Year'.
In January 2005 he was loaned to Germany´s Bundesliga Club, Werder Bremen for an estimated € 500,000 plus an option to purchase Zidan for € 2.5 Mill. Werder Bremen exercised the option in the summer but loaned the player to Mainz 05 for the 2005/2006 season to gain some playing experience. He is having an excellent season with Mainz 05 and it is expected that he will return to Werder Bremen for the 2006/2007 season.
