Christmas 2003: Adam graduated to the pro ranks in his final year as a student, signing a two-and-a-half year contract. He made his full League debut for the club in the 2-1 win at Notts County in November 2003. He has since been a regular in the first-team squad and can play either at right-back or centre-half
Adam El Abd is 20 years old. Adam El Abd joined Brighton´s youth squad when he was 10 and the youngster was granted granted a scholarship at the club at 16.
El Abd signed his first professional contract of 2 1/2 years with Brighton Hove Albion at 19. In his secound full season as a Pro, young defender Adam El Abd made 10 appearances last year, 9 as starter and 1 as substitute. This current season 2005/2006 he played 26 matches of which have been 19 as a starter.
Adam El Abd has an English mother and an Egyptian father and has two brothers. The older brother [Joe] plays professional rugby for Division One team Bristol and his younger brother Sami plays football for Crawley Town [Conference].
Brighton Hove Albion has unfortunately been relegated to League One as they are bottom of the English Championship table.
