German giants Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen are both eyeing Egyptian international Mohamed Aboutrika.

Bundesliga Champions Bayern have followed Bremen in bidding for the Egyptian midfielder.

“We received an official offer through an agent but we will not discuss it before the end of the season”

Al Ahly’s marketing manager, Adly Kaiey told Egyptian media today.

Since playing a major role in securing the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations title for the Pharaohs, the 28-year-old has also received serious offers from a couple of Russian clubs.

Al Ahly officials have previously revealed their intention to release the player at the end of the season, but Portuguese coach Manuel Jose has recently expressed his concerns over the effect the departure of Aboutrika will have on his team.

“If we want to defend our African Champions League title, we have to keep Mohamed Aboutrika but the problem is he has a very powerful desire to move to Europe,”

Jose stated.

Mohamed Aboutrika helped Al Ahly to reach the group stage of this year’s CAF Champions League on Saturday, scoring twice in a 4-0 triumph over Equatorial Guinea's Renacimiento.
