In 2005, Flavio joined his friend and team-mate, Gilberto, from Angolan club Petro Atleticoat at Al Ahly (EGY) in Egypt.


Flavio was voted the "Best Player in the African Champions League" in 2001.


In the last African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Flavio showed his ability by netting a goal against Cameroon and two goals against Togo but was denied more goals because Angola was eliminated in group stage.

Angola´s national coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves believes that Flavio will impress on football´s greatest stage and has high hopes that his striker will score against Portugal.

Flavio Amado is usually paired with star player Akwa in the Angolan attack, providing a dynamic striking partnership.
As we've already mentioned, Flavio scored three of his country’s four goals in the 2006 African Cup of Nations, despite being better known as a creator of chances rather than a finisher.

He likes to take on defenders and is able to feed team-mates with very accurate crosses. After, he joined African Champions Cup winners Al Ahly Cairo, he played with Al Ahly (EGY) in the 2005 FIFA World Club Championship.
This season Flavio has played 24 games with Al Ahly (EGY) and only scored only 2 goals.

In his two years at the club he won 4 titles with Al Ahly (EGY): 1 League title, 1 African Champions League trophy, 1 African Super Cup and 1 Egyptian Super Cup.
