African champions, Egypt, slumped to a 2-0 defeat on Saturday against Spain who prepare for the World Cup in Germany later this week.


Spain captain,Raul Gonzales put the hosts ahead in the 14th minute and substitute Jose Antonio Reyes sealed the victory 11 minutes after the break.

Game minute by minute:

6th min. Ramos managed to take the ball past Abdel Wahab from the right wing, he tried a low cross but it was deflected behind for a corner.


10th min. Freekick for Spain from the right wing, it was played low at the edge of the box where it was struck low at goal, but Hadari did well to hold onto the ball.


12th min. Abd Rabo tried a cross from the right wing but the ball was collected by Spain defense.


14th min. GOAL FOR SPAIN! Lopez struck a shot from outside the box, Hadari couldn't hold onto the ball and it fell to Raul who sent it home with his left to give Spain the early lead.

18th min. A cross from the left wing was met by a header from Saka at goal, but it sailed way over the bar.


19th min. Fabregas tried a shot from outside the area, the shot lacked power but Hadari saved it after a 2nd attempt!


20th min. A chip pass was played into Egypt's area, David was closely marked by Saka but still he managed to squeeze a shot into the side netting.

Follow up:

22nd min. Freekick for a foul on Barakat in the right wing, the cross was cleared and the ball fell to Abdel Wahab on the edge of the box, the latter tried a volley with his left but the ball went way over.


37th min. ABO TREKA WASTED A REAL CHANCE! The ball fell into the edge of the box to Abo Treka, he had the chance to lay the ball to the onside Ahmed Hassan but he decided to attempt placing the ball into the far corner but it went just wide.

39th min. Good play from the Egyptian side, Barakat got the ball in the right wing and made the cross but Moteb couldn't get a clear header.


41st min. Yellow card for Albelda for a foul on Ahmed Hassan.

48th min. Low pass to Torres into the box, he tried a low shot at goal but it went wide.


50th min. Abd Rabo sent a beautiful pass to Abdel Wahab in the left wing, the latter crossed it on a first time but Puyol stole the ball from Moteb in the last second!

54th min. Gomaa did well to challenge Reyes in the left wing and to send the ball behind for a corner.


55th min. Abdel Wahab tried a shot from way out but it came off a defender and went for a corner. The corner kick came to nothing though.


56th min. Yellow card for Saka after a foul on Torres.


57th min. REYES SCORED FOR SPAIN! He sent a great shot from the freekick into the top corner leaving Hadari with no chance.

58th min. Dangerous cross into Egypt's area, but Barakat sent the ball behind for a corner.


59th min. The corner kick was played shot and the cross was made into the area, Raul met the ball with his head and it missed the target only by inches!


60th min. Low through pass to Torres behind the defense but the referee whistled for offside.


64th min. Fahti in, Barakat out.


65th min. Luis Garcia managed to take the ball past Saka in the box and attenmpted to shoot from narrow angle but Hadari sent the ball away for a corner.


78th min. ABDEL HALIM ALI HAD A REAL CHANCE! He met a cross with a powerful header but Casillas made a good reflex save.


80th min. Low pass to Abdel Halim Ali who tried to place the ball into the bottom corner but Casillas made another good save.


83rd min. Abo Treka out, Hamza in.


84th min. Emad Moteb out, Mostafa Gaafar in.


88th min. Gamal Hamza laid the ball to Gaafar who tried to place the ball home but it went over.


90th min. Low pass to Luis Garcia who tired a powerful low shot from narrow angle but Hadari saved his shot at the expense of a corner.
