Ahmed Hossam Mido played the first half while his team AS Roma lost against CF Valencia for the Trofeo Naranja Cup. It is quite obvious that AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti is keen to hand Mido a bigger chance to become a key player for AS Roma this season.

Ahmed Hossam Mido played 63 minutes and was booked with a yellow card after a scuffle with Valencia's players. His teammate De Rossi received a red card at the end of the first half.

Valencia showed that the team is already much further in their pre-season preparation is more than Roma. Valencia already started the season early when they had to play Austrian team Red Bull Salzburg in the 3rd Round of the Uefa Champions League last week.

Morientes made an impact for Valencia while Roma star and world champion Francesco Totti could not inspire the rest of his team after his first match for Roma after his holidays.

Valencia's newly signed striker David Silva was the star of the game. Silva had a great day and scored twice in 43rd and 82nd minute.
After 63 minutes in the second half, Ahmed Hossam Mido was substituted by Congo international Shabani Nonda at the minute 63.

After the match, Roma's coach Luciano Spalletti talked about Ahmed Hossam Mido. "We changed our minds on Ahmed Hossam Mido because we've got to know better his characteristics that can be helpful for our side and the way we play," Spalletti told the press. "If someone wants to come in and make an offer for him, then that's a different matter, but we won't be throwing him out in the street."
