The Interview

socceregypt.com: Good morning, William. Would you be kind enough to introduce yourself to our visitors on SoccerEgypt?

William Mensah: Good morning, I am William Mensah from Ghana, single and 24 years old.

Socceregypt.com: What clubs have you play for in Ghana and later here in Egypt?

William Mensah:: I played in Ghana for Olympic and here in Egypt I spent 2 seasons in Sohag and this is already my 3rd season with Tanta.

Socceregypt.com: What, in your opinion are the major difference between the Egyptian league and the rest of the African leagues, especially Ghana?

William Mensah:: The Egyptian League is more professional than most of the other African countries and compared to Ghana, but I can not say, that it is harder to play here. In Egypt, the football is more technical while in Ghana it is more physical.

Socceregypt.com: What is your opinion of living in Egypt, how do you adapted to life in Egypt and what would you suggest to other young Ghanaian players that try to become a professional football player in Egypt?

William Mensah:: Egypt is a very beautiful country and the Egyptians in general are very friendly people. I personally, have not faced any real problems since I came here. I feel very settled and am as comfortable as I would be with my own family in Ghana. I can only tell all other young players that are considering coming to try their luck in Egypt, that they should not be afraid to do so. They should simply concentrate on playing football and take this opportunity to become a professional player seriously. Egypt is a very good country for young Africans to develope into professional footballers. The environment for football is good.

Socceregypt.com: We've been hearing rumours that some big clubs, such as Ennpi, Haras Elhedoud and also Elmkwaleen El Arab are interested in your services. Are these just rumours or is there more behind them?

William Mensah:: Let's not discuss this now. It is far to early to discuss something like this at this point. I have got one more year left on my contract with Tanta which means there are 24 matches to play. My first target is to help Tanta to avoid relegation. It will be a tough season and I will give everything for the team. After this, we will see, but I promise you, Socceregypt.com will be the first to informed of my future plans.

socceregypt.com: William, thank you very much for your time!

William Mensah:: It was a pleasure. Best wishes to all your readers.
