Egyptian And Brighton midfielder Adam El-Abd faces up to three weeks out after picking up a leg injury at Millwall.

El-Abd, 22, was stretchered off after suffering a deep gash to his calf.

Follow up:

He told Brighton's website:

"I went to block a shot and Gavin Grant came down on it. It was nothing malicious. It was an innocuous challenge.

"As I stood up, I noticed my calf was streaming with blood. I grabbed it to stop it bleeding and a big chunk of flesh came away."

Al-Abd was kept in hospital and is expected to be released on Friday.

"As they were cleaning it and stitching the wound, it looked horrendous," he added.

"It looked much worse than it felt, but just looking at it made me go a little bit queasy."
