Zamalek boosted their ACL hopes after beating Kuwait’s Qadsia 4-2 at Cairo International Stadium in a thrilling encounter on Thursday.

Kone grabbed the lead for Qadsia after 17 minutes when he latched on to Brahima Kita's through pass to beat the offside trap and slot home into the net.
In the 38th minute, a defensive mix-up slipped the ball into the path of Junior, who hit a powerful left-footed low drive into the bottom corner of the net to equalize for Zamalek.
Abdul Haleem Ali grabbed the lead for Zamalek in the 50th minute when he was picked out unmarked by Amr Zaki’s low cross to poke into the empty net.
The impressive Kone capitalized on a goal-mouth scramble inside Zamalek’s area to convert a corner-kick past Zamalek keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed.
Mostafa Gaafar restored Zamalek’s lead seconds after his introduction before a brilliant curling shot by Osama Hassan sealed the victory.
The result put Zamalek in charge of Group A with 7 points, one ahead of second-placed Ahli Jeddah.
Algeria’s Ahli Bordj lie third with five points and Qadsia are fourth with four points.
