Abdul-Halim Ali scored that proved to be the winner eight minutes after the interval.

Ahli Bordj are third with five points while Qadsia lie at the bottom on four points.

The first chance came for the visitors in the 13th minute when Tunisian defender Wissem El-Abdi towered to head Ahmed Ghanem's free-kick just wide of the post.

In the 24th minute, Bordj midfielder Kamal Maouche sent a powerful left-footed drive that went over the bar.
Oualid Mani scored for the Algerians in the 31st minute but his goal was ruled out by the referee for an apparent foul on Zamalek keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed.

A corner-kick was collected by Al-Sayed but the ball slipped out of his hands only for Mani to notch into the net. Television replays were inconclusive whether there was contact or not.

Zamalek stunned the home crowd in the 53rd minute when a through pass beat the offside trap and went into the path of Al-Sayed who raced down the left-flank and provided a low cross that evaded the keeper for an easy tap-in by Ali.

Bordj squandered a host of opportunities to level the score through efforts from Fouaz Khaled and Maouche.

El-Abdi was sent-off in stoppage time for a second bookable offense.
