Egypt have named six European-based players in their squad for the MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania later this month but are still to announce the rest of the squad.

Reports said coach Hassan Shehata has informed the Tottenham Hotspur pair Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghali of their call-up, plus striker Mohamed Zidan of FC Mainz, Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan, Sheffield United's Ahmed Fathi and Rizespor defender Ibrahim Said.
Defender Amir Azmi Megahed, who plays his club football at Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab, is also included in the squad Egypt, who host Mauritania on March 25 in Cairo, lead Group B with four points.
