Anderlecht and Genk faced each other this evening. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving the battle for the title completely open. Anderlecht came one up through Frutos, but forgot to finish off Genk and allowed them to come back.

Follow up:
Anderlecht took a great start with a splendid chance for Hassan after 25 seconds. His header went over the cross bar. The Mauves controlled the first 15 minutes with a fair amount of danger opportunities.
Genk came back into the game and created chances via Soetaers and Vandenbergh. Though it was Anderlecht that opened the score. Boussoufa gave an excellent pass on Frutos and he made the nets tremble 0-1.
From then on, the game became harder with nasty fouls. Boussoufa and later on Frutos needed some care when they both got kicked in the head. Matoukou got yellow for a dangerous tackle on De Man. Further, a penalty foul on Pareja wasn't seen by the referee. But in the second half, the same happened on the other side. Meanwhile, Juhasz had to leave the pitch because of an injury. Von Schebrügge made his debute.
Slowly but surely, Genk gained control over the game and Anderlecht fell back, relying on their defense. Though, 20 minutes before the end Lubojevic equalised with a header. Vercauteren reacted and brought Tchité in for Boussoufa.
With Tchité in the team, Anderlecht became dangerous again. The striker had an open chance, but his ball missed the post for a few inches. In the last 10 minutes, Hassan showed his class by sending excellent passes to the Anderlecht striker, but the linesman saw off-side (twice, though he was mistaken).
Also Genk had one good chance in the last minute, but the header of went over. That way, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Genk at the top of the table.
