Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played a fine match versus Roeselare as he scored the 2nd goal and won a penalty kick which resulted in the 3rd goal as well. Ahmed Hassan also hit the bar in the 2nd half with a powerful shot. The away game ended in an easy win for Anderlecht by five goals to nil.

Follow up:

Earlier Racing Genk won its home game against Mouscron and temporarily jumped over Anderlecht in the league ranking. A lot of speculation went on if Anderlecht would be able to deal with the pressure should they trail behind. Those questions vanished barely two minutes into the game when Legear scored his first goal of the season. He speeded past his opponent on the right and shot the ball past Sierens from a difficult angle.

Anderlecht dominated the game under the orchestration of Ahmed Hassan. It was the Egyptian playmaker that doubled the score after 20 minutes. He maneuvered between the Roeselare defence and knocked the ball into the goal. Anderlecht was not satisfied yet and searched for a third goal. It was again Legear that secured the victory five minutes before half-time. The winger glided past his marker and lifted the ball over the Roeselare goalkeeper.

And still Anderlecht were not finished with Roeselare. In the final minute of the first half Vanderbiest brought down Ahmed Hassan in the penalty area. Frutos did not fail and brought the score to 0-4.

The second half appeared a mere formality. Anderlecht searched to mount to score but Frutos, Hassan and Boussoufa did not manage to finish excellent opportunities. The safe lead prompted Vercauteren to bring in a few youngsters. Both Mbokani and Lamah were given a chance. Roeselare on its part tried to score a goal for honor sake but did not succeed. It was Mbokani, on the other hand, who put the 0-5 on the scoreboard five minutes before the final whistle. He finished off a pass from Lamah.
