Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan scored to help Anderlecht thrash FC Brussels 6-0 on Saturday and win the Belgian League title for the second successive season.


The in-form Ahmed Hassan , who was doubtful to take part in the match due to high temperature, opened the score line after eight minutes to pave the way for a comfortable win.

Argentinean Nicolas Frutos doubled the lead in the 17th minute before his compatriot Lucas Rodrigo Biglia added the third in the 59th minute from the penalty spot.


Brussels defender Steve Colpaert scored an own goal ten minutes from time before a brace by Congolese striker Mohamed Tchite in the 84th and 90th minutes completed the rout.


Due to his illness, Ahmed Hassan was unable to complete the match and had to be replaced midway through the second-half after fainting on the ground The whole stadium cheered for the Egyptian he left the pitch..

Anderlecht secured the league title as they lie on top with 77 points, five ahead of second-placed Racing Genk, who lost to Charleroi 2-0 at home, with just one match to go.


The title is Hassan's first in his career as he didn't win any trophy with Ismaili, Kocaelispor, Genclerbirligi and Besiktas, the clubs he played for.


The 32-year-old is expected to end his European tenure and return to Egypt after the season ended, with Cairo powerhouse Zamalek being his most likely destination.
