Mohamed Zidan's Hamburg edged past Serie A newly-promoted side Juventus 1-0 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

Substitute Maxim Choupo-Moting notched what proved to be the winner five minutes from time.

Egyptian forward Zidan, who joined Hamburg from relegated club Mainz in the off-season, took part in the game and put in a fine display.

Hamburg have booked their place in the UEFA Cup qualifying round after thrashing Moldova's Daciu Chisinau 5-1 on aggregate.
