Ahmed Hassan's Anderlecht opened their Belgian League title defense with a last-gasp 1-0 victory at KV Mechelen on Friday.
Polish defender Marcin Wasilewski headed in a 90th minute winner to give the Purple and White their first three points of the new season.

Egyptian star Ahmed Hassan played the full match which was totally controlled by Anderlecht. However, the chances weren't many.
amongst the few chances that Anderlecht got to score was a header from Mbo Mpenza but it went just wide.
In the 2nd half, Anderlecht got another chance through Boussoufa but the goalkeeper parried his shot away.
Apart from this, Anderlecht didn't get many clear chances but in the end, they got the job done and returned home with the match points.
It should be noted that Ahmed Haassan's Anderlecht will face Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the Champions League. They will need to win in order to advance to the group stages.
