Bryan Robson has refuted speculation that has linked Egypt international Ahmed Fathi with a move away from Bramall Lane.

Recent media reports linked midfielder Fathi with Egyptian side Zamalek, but Robson has poured cold water on the rumour.

Follow up:

Robson said to Sheffield United official website :

"I haven't heard anything about that. While the transfer window is open, people will always talk about players coming in and players going out - you can never stop the speculation.

"Ahmed has been training with the boys and he's a big part of the squad and, as far as I'm concerned, he's a Sheffield United player."

Robson revealed that Fathi is set to be included in Saturday's squad for the Coca-Cola Championship opener versus Colchester United at the Lane.

"He's in the squad for Saturday,"

said Robson.

Meanwhile, Robson says that he is continuing his search for an attacking midfielder to add to his squad.

He added:

"There's nothing to report at this moment in time.

"If I bring a player in, it needs to be a player better than the quality that we already have in the squad - if that player does become available then I'll try to make it happen for Sheffield United."
