Egyptian international Mohamed Shawky is currently on trial at Premier league side Middelsborough.
The Al Ahly player flew directly from France to England after Egypt drew with Ivory Coast 0-0 in a friendly on Wednesday in Paris to join up with the team.

The 25-year-old plays as a defensive midfielder and he played every single minute of Egypt’s glorious MTN African Cup of Nations campaign last year.


He was supposed to be accompanied by his teammate Emad Motaeb but the latter was forced to return to Cairo after Ahly refused to let him go on trial at Boro.

the Boro have already signed another Egyptian, Ahmed “Mido” Hossam who scored on his debut last week to lead Boro to their first victory in the English Premiership this season.
