Ahli were held to a 0-0 home draw by Arab Contractors on Thursday in day four of the Egyptian League to drop to the fifth place in the table.

Follow up:
Ahli had a good start of the game and could have opened the score early but the bar denied a well-placed free kick from Mohamed Abou-Treika in the third minute.
In the 15th minute, Osama Hosni had a golden chance to break the deadlock after being sent clear by Abou Treika but Arab Contractors' keeper Mohamed Al-Akabawi deflected his attempt to the corner.
The game took another turn as the hosts became more dominant and threatened Ahli's net but Essam Al-Hadari made some heroic saves on Rami Rabie's header and Minusu Buba's shot to keep his clean sheet.
Then Emad Meteb showed one of his bizarre scenes after dribbling past the last defender but he missed the ball and fell on the ground.
Ahli's manager Manuel Jose threw all his winning cards such as Sebastiao Gilberto, Amado Flavio and Mohamed Barakat.
It gave the AL-Ahli the control in midfield but with no real threat in front of goal to get out of the game with a single point.
