Ahli have stretched their lead on top of the table to six points with a 1-0 win over Gaish on Friday in the Egyptian League.


Osama Hosni scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute after connecting with Emad Meteb’s cross who dribbled passed the keeper and sent him clear on goal.


The Red Devils are in the lead with 33 points six ahead of second-placed Gaish.

The game had a promising start but soon both sides lost their pace especially after Hosni’s injury in the 25th minute.


Gaish went close from the equalizer but Yassin Abdul-Aal’s header was denied by the post.


Ahli’s midfielder Moataz Eno unleashed a long-range streamer that should have been the second goal but the referee ruled it out. The TV replay proved that the ball crossed the line.


The second half was one of the poorest this season as both sides seemed satisfied with the result and didn’t give their audience a quality show.
