Egypt’s European-based trio of Hossam Ghaly, Ahmed Fathi and Ibrahim Said will miss their country’s friendly against Cote d’Ivoire set for 22 August in France.

Follow up:

Egypt manager Hassan Shehata has included Zamalek defender Mahmoud Fathallah and Haras El Hedood duo Ahmed Eid Abdul-Malek and Abdul-Salam Nagah in his squad that will travel to France on Saturday.

The players are replacements for Ghaly, Fathy and Said, who will not join their teammates in France.

“Ghaly, Fathy and Said will miss the trip due to visa problems. And so we called up Fathallah, Abdul-Malek and
Nagah to make the trip,”

Egypt’s assistant coach Shawki Gharib said.

“We also might have injuries or exhausted players, especially from Ahly and Ismaily, who have tough tasks in the African competitions and so we preferred to include more players.”

Ahly and Ismaily players will meet up their teammates after their weekend games.
