Middlesbrough today completed the signing of Egyptian international midfielder Mohamed Shawky from African champions Al-Ahly Club on a three-year contract.
Mohamed Shawky 25-year-old has been on Middlesbrough all week for medical tests while transfer negotiations were underway.
He has now signed on the dotted line after a £650,000 deal was agreed between the clubs.

Middlesbrough initially planned to take Mohamed Shawky and his team-mate, striker Emad Moteab, on trial but after watching the duo on international duty Middlesbrough decided to press ahead with a move for the Mohamed Shawky and no trial took place.
Mohamed Shawky has represented Egypt 42 times and scored three goals. He has been an ever-present for Egypt, the reigning African Nations Cup champions, over the last two seasons.
