Cameroon and Egypt on Monday had a last training session ahead of Tuesday’s Group C match of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations between the two nations.

Cameroon’s session started at 4pm at Kumasi’s Baba Yara Stadium. It was a light training session which ended with a fun exercise. The session was concluded with a group prayer.

Players didn’t talk to the media and coach Otto Pfister’s only reaction after training was “no comment”.

Much louder spoke the numerous Lions fans, who were watching the training session from the stands, with trumpets, drums and song. It even resulted in the Egyptian fans moving to the other stand.
Egypt’s training session started at 5pm and, like Cameroon’s, lasted about an hour.

The Pharaohs will miss midfielder Ahmed Hassan due to suspension, while star midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika could start on the bench after having been out of action for about two weeks due to 'flu.

Aboutrika resumed training five days ago, but it will be interesting to see if coach Hassan Shehata will start a player who’s probably not 100 percent match fit.

Aboutrika didn’t comment on his fitness status, but did admit that Wednesday’s match against Cameroon “will be difficult”.

Other players carrying light injuries or having just recovered from injury are Ibrahim Said and Amr Zaki.

Left-winger Tarek El Sayed adds: “It’s not easy to say what will happen against Cameroon. This is football; you never know what happens.”

About an hour into Egypt’s training session the lights went off for about five minutes at the Baba Yara Stadium.
