Zambia might have been Sudan by a three goal margin, but Chipolopolo were certainly not always the better team.

Zambia were a bit lucky to get an early goal, thanks to excellent work from the South African-based striker James Chamanga, who replaced the suspended Chris Katongo up-front.

However, Zambia coach Patrick Phiri must also be complimented for fielding an attacking line-up with three strikers; Chamanga, Jacob Mulenga and Dube Phiri.

Once again the Pharaohs failed to convert their domination into goals as they were held by Kuwait to a 1-1 draw, Tuesday in a friendly held in Kuwait.

Bashar Abdullah opened the scoring just ten minutes after the kick off before in-form Mahmoud Abdul-Razek "Shikabala" leveled the score in the 56th minute.

CAF Reject Egypt Appeal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected the appeal lodged by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) requesting that their match against Mauritania in the MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers be replayed.

Zamalek celebrated their African Champions League return with a thrashing 4-1 home win over Burundi's Vital'O in the first-leg of the competition's preliminary round on Sunday.
Amr Zaki, Hazem Emam, Mostafa Gaafar and Tarek Al-Sayed were on the score sheet to help Zamalek, who didn't feature in last year's edition, edge closer to the Champions League round of 32.

National Team Egypt, Match Report: Egypt - Burundi 4-1

Egypt kicked-off their African Cup qualifiers with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Burundi in Cairo on Saturday.


The African champions went to the locker room with a three-goal lead thanks to efforts from Mohamed Zidan, Hosni Abd-Rabou and Mohamed Abou-Treika.

Egypt captain and Anderlecht playmaker Ahmed Hassan completed the rout after the break with a trademark penalty-kick.



Soliman scored the consolation goal for the visitors from the spot in the 78th minute.

Egypt now top Group B with three points before Botswana play Mauritania in the group's second tie.

Egypt's players and coaching staff wore black armbands in grief over the death of Ahli's international left-back Mohamed Abdul-Wahab who died in training on Thursday.
