Emad Meteb notched a hat-trick as Egypt settled for a 3-3 draw with Angola in Lisbon in the Pharaohs' last warm-up for the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.


Ahli striker Meteb put Egypt ahead early in the game but his strike was cancelled out by his club teammate Flavio Amado midway through the first-half.


The 24-year-old Meteb restored Egypt's lead shortly after but was once again denied by Flavio.

Angola Promise To Pay For Gilberto’s Medical Costs

Angola’s football federation have promised they will pay a claim for medical costs of their star winger Gilberto, who has recently recovered from an long-standing Achilles tendon injury but told his country he will not play for the national team until the settle the dispute.

Al Ahly Will Not Release Flavio

MTN CAF Champions League holders Al Ahly of Egypt will not let go their Angolan striker Flavio.


Al Ahly received an official offer for their marksman from German side Alemania Aachen but the Egyptians are not planning to sell their player.



“Our target is to defend our CAF Champions League title and to do that we will not let go any of our players,” Al Ahly manager Hossam El Badry said.


Flavio helped Al Ahly win the domestic league this season was the top scorer of the competition with 17 goals.

Ahli reach African Champions League final

Al-Ahly of Egypt reached a second consecutive African Champions League final despite losing 2-1 to ASEC Abidjan of Ivory Coast.


The title holders triumphed 2-0 in the first leg of the semi-final two weeks ago and qualified 3-2 on aggregate to play Club Sportif Sfaxien of Tunisia in the decider.


Ahly will host the first leg at the end of October with the return match in mid-November and the winners qualify to play Auckland City of New Zealand for a place in the FIFA club world championship semi-finals.


Angolan striker Flavio Amado headed Ahly in front after 37 minutes at Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in the Ivorian commercial capital to the delight of the few Egyptian supporters in a near-capacity crowd.
but two second-half goals from ASEC star Didier Ya Konan sparked the Ivorians into life again.


But Ahli hang on to their slim lead to qualify to the finals where they will play Tunisian side Sfaxien who edged past Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
