The Egyptian Defender Adam El Abd couldn't help his side Brighton to win the match against French Ligue 2 AC Le Havre. Adam Played the full game while his team lost 2-0.
This loss against Le Havre is the first defeat of the pre-season campaign for Brighton. The goals for Le Havre form Hassane Alla and Kandia Traore gave Le Havre an impressive 2-0 victory.


Brighton played without Alex Revell in attack and Adam Hinshelwood at the back, but boss Mark McGhee continued with the 4-3-3 formation that proved effective against amateurs Racing Club Port du Havre on Tuesday.

The Egyptian player Adam El_Abd played the first half for his team Brighton & Hove Albion while they won there 4th preperation game for the new season againist French amateurs side Racing Club Port du Havre.

The French amateurs were simply no match for a rampant Albion side and Alex Revell helped himself to a first-half hat-trick.


Strike partner Jake Robinson and Colin Kazim-Richards, playing just behind the front duo, weighed in with two apiece to put Albion 7-0 up at half-time.


After the break trialists Jaques Williams and Liam Marum increased the lead before first-year professional Dean Cox completed the rout with a brace of his own.


The French non-leaguers managed to keep Albion scoreless for the first 27 minutes; Robinson and Kazim-Richards each went close before the latter opened the scoring on 27 minutes.


Two minutes later Revell - supplied by Kazim-Richards after a neat turn and pass - doubled the lead. The third goal arrived on 33 minutes, as Kazim-Richards won the ball in midfield and ran forward to score.


The fourth goal, four minutes later, saw a neat passing move involving Kazim-Richards, Dean Hammond and Revell ended by Robinson.

Revell completed a 12-minute hat-trick with goals on 39 and 41 minutes, before chasing down a lost cause to set up Robinson in the final minute of the first half.


Mark McGhee made ten changes at the interval, meaning a completely different team starting the second half. Trialists Jacques Williams and 21-year-old Hungarian-born David Galantai starting in midfield.


Liam Marum was joined in attack by Joe Gatting, with Cox taking up the role by Kazim-Richards in the first half.


The French side held Albion for the opening 15 minutes, before Williams headed in a pin-point cross from the left by Sam Rents. Marum added number nine on 80 minutes, before Cox fired home from the edge of the box to make it double figures a minute later.


Cox saved the best until last, as he produced the goal of the game: controlling the ball some twenty-five yards from goal the first-year pro hit a superb volley in the final minute.

McGhee said,

"The opposition were not from our level, so we won't be kidded by that - but our shape was, enthusiasm was good and so was our attempt to put into practice the tactics.

"The movement ahead of the ball was excellent and that's the sort of thing we've taken from the training ground. The finishing was terrific.

Meanwhile Albion's youth team - also in Le Havre for a week-long training session - went goal crazy, hitting seven past local Le Havre side Caucriauville.


In a match played before the first-team fixture at Gonfreville, the scholars ran out 7-1 winners as Matthew Foreman scored four times, Lloyd Skinner grabbed a brace and Kane Louis were also on target.
Brighton will face the French secound Div Ac Le havre on Saterday .

Christmas 2003: Adam graduated to the pro ranks in his final year as a student, signing a two-and-a-half year contract. Adam El Abd is 20 years old. Adam El Abd joined Brighton´s youth squad when he was 10 and the youngster was granted granted a scholarship at the club at 16.
El Abd signed his first professional contract of 2 1/2 years with Brighton Hove Albion at 19. In his secound full season as a Pro, young defender Adam El Abd made 10 appearances last year, 9 as starter and 1 as substitute. This current season 2005/2006 he played 26 matches of which have been 19 as a starter.


Adam El Abd has an English mother and an Egyptian father and has two brothers. The older brother [Joe] plays professional rugby for Division One team Bristol and his younger brother Sami plays football for Crawley Town [Conference].


Brighton Hove Albion has unfortunately been relegated to League One as they are bottom of the English Championship table.

Brighton Hove & Albion received their biggest defeat of the season when they were beaten by Stoke City 1-5. Young Egyptian defender Adam El Abd didn't play and could not help his team from the substitute bench.


A hat-trick by teenager Adam Rooney gave Stoke their biggest win of the season, 5-1 at the Withdean Stadium, and ensured Brighton ended the campaign at the foot of the Coca-Cola Championship table.The 18-year-old scored twice in the first half and completed his hat-trick after 63 minutes, with Mamady Sidibe and Peter Sweeney also getting on the scoresheet.
It was probably Johan Boskamp's last match in charge of the Potters and he saw his side make a bright start. Brighton goalkeeper Wayne Henderson was called into action almost immediately when he had to deal with a 25-yard shot from Darel Russell.

Stoke made their pressure pay and after six minutes they went ahead after the home defenders failed to deal with a David Brammer corner, allowing Rooney to slot the ball past Henderson.
Brighton tried to get back into the match and were almost back on level terms moments later when Colin Kazim-Richards latched on to a free-kick from Adam Hinshelwood, forcing Stoke goalkeeper Steve Simonsen to parry the ball to safety.

Their response was short-lived though as Stoke extended their lead after 21 minutes, Rooney grabbing his second goal of the match when he latched on to a pass from Josip Skoko to beat Henderson.
Skoko, who was causing Brighton problems, almost made it 3-0 moments later only to see his shot blocked by Richard Carpenter.

A free-kick just outside the penalty area gave Brighton some hope of pulling a goal back but Kazim-Richards shot straight into the wall.
Rooney was in the thick of the action again when Stoke went 3-0 up, Sidibe collecting a pass from the teenager and drilling the ball home from 18 yards out.

Russell almost made it 4-0 when his left-foot shot from 25 yards hit the post as half-time approached.


The Seagulls came out stronger in the second half with good chances in the opening 10 minutes from Kazim-Richards, Carpenter and Sebastian Carole but all to no avail.
Rooney grabbed his hat-trick and put the game beyond Brighton's reach with their first attack of the second half just after the hour mark, firing home a pass from Sidibe from eight yards.

Rooney was substituted for Sweeney with 15 minutes left and the tactical change by Boskamp paid off as Sweeney added goal number five with nine minutes left.
Substitute Doug Loft scored a consolation goal soon afterwards but it was a case of too little too late for the Seagulls.

If young talented Egyptian defender Adam El-Abd extends his contract with Brighton, he will continue to play for the Seagulls next season.
