gyptian star Ahmed Hassan played a full match for his side Anderlecht in their away clash with Getafe in the UEFA cup group stage. Despite the defeat of Hassan's side by two goals to one, Anderlecht will advance to the last 32 round because of the defeat of Hapoel Tel Aviv at their home by three goals to one to the Danish side, AaB Aalborg.

Ahli-Suez Cement 1-0


Ahli maintained their position on top of the league table with a 1-0 win over bottom club Suez Cement on Tuesday.


A second-half spot kick from skipper Shadi Mohamed gave the holders and current leaders the three points in a below-par game at Military Academy Stadium.


Petrojet-Zamalek .1-0.
Zamalek's hopes of competing for the Egyptian League title dented after Ahmed Shaaban's late bullet helped 10-man Petrojet secure a precious 1-0 home victory on Wednesday.


Despite Osama Mohamed's dismissal for a second booking five minutes before the final whistle, Petrojet managed to grab a much-needed win.


Midfielder Shaaban fired a powerful shot into the back of the net with one minute remaining.


Petrojet leapfrogged Zamalek to second place in the league table with 29 points after ending a four-match winless streak.


Zamalek lie third on 27 points, nine adrift of leaders and title holders Ahli, who still have a game in hand.




Baladeya Al mahala -Harras Al-Hodoud . 2-2
Baladeya scored twice in the last nine minutes to storm back from a two-goal deficit and hold Harras Al-Hodoud to a 2-2 draw in the Egyptian League on Tuesday.


Harras took the lead as early as the fifth minute through Abdul-Salam Nagah before Mohamed Halim doubled the lead 20 minutes later.


The hosts had an uphill to climb in the second period but substitute Ahmed Kolo pulled one back in the 81st minute and Baladeya were granted 10 minutes of additional time to equalize.


The needed only one minute as second substitute Saied Mourad buried home to snatch a precious point.


Baladeya are 14th with 13 points and are struggling to move out of the relegation zone. Harras are sixth with 20 points.




Itthad -Ghazl Al Mahala 1-2.


Ahli opened a nine-point gap with Zamalek and Al-Gaish, having 36 points at the summit, while Cement remain rock bottom with ten points.


Aluminum -Al-Gaish 0-1 .
Al-Gaish regained second spot in the Egyptian League after securing a 1-0 away victory over Aluminum on Wednesday.


Anwar Masood scored the winner in the 33rd minute as the military club claimed their first victory in three matches.


Al-Gaish are second with 30 points, six adrift of runaway leaders Ahli.



Ismaili - Arab Contractors 1-0.

Sayed Moawad's 80th-minute strike earned Ismaili a 1-0 home victory over Arab Contractors.


The Egypt defender collected Hosni Abd-Rabou's pass and burst into the area before firing a powerful shot into the far corner from a tight angle.


Contractors will be left ruing a missed penalty as Alaa Kamal's spot kick was blocked by Mohamed Sobhi 14 minutes after restart.

Egypt jump to 39th in FIFA Ranking

Egypt finished the year of 2007 in 39th place in the monthly FIFA Ranking for national teams, as Argentina remained on top.

Zamalek -Telecom Egypt.3-0.

Amr Zaki's double led 10-man Zamalek to an easy 3-0 home victory over Telecom Egypt as the Cairo giants moved to second place in the Egyptian League table.


Osama Hassan opened the scoring in the 36th minute before being sent-off in the second period due to a second bookable offense.


Zaki, who shrugged off series of problems with Zamalek board, doubled the lead shortly before the interval.
